Stagnaro Bros. Restaurant, Wholesale, Retail, Santa Cruz

John and Ernie Stagnaro have soley owned and operated Stagnaro Bros. Restaurant and Fish Market since 1937. Not to be confused with other establishments that may show the same family name, they are still located at the outer end of the Santa Cruz Municipal Wharf.

At the young ages of 24 and 17 repectively, John and Ernie, with the help of a small loan from their mother Theresa, managed to open and maintain a small seafood market and cocktail room throughout the Great Depression and World War II. Their perseverance allowed them to expand and eventually add a restaurant and a wholesale component to their company.

Today, John and Ernie are proud to see 15 of their family members continuing the tradition of providing the same quality service and the largest selection of fresh and frozen seafood in the county.

"Caught today, cooked today, your home or ours."
